March 23 Family issuesAt present in my family there is an ongoing issue which is causing a big rift. I'm not directly involved but am affected when i see those concerned. All families have rows at times but i'm praying this one will be resolved before too long. February 03 A tired man.At this time Nigel is sleeping due to tiredness from doing two jobs. He has two weeks to go. After that he'll get more time to rest. I am hoping that in the time immediately after the change he gets the rest he so desperately needs and that during that time God will make it clear what work he can do for the church. January 27 Prayer for nigelPlease pray for nigel. Some will know he has given in notice at the shop. He is getting hassle off the manager who won't accept it. Please pray he can over come these issues. He is speaking to HR so pray that the convo would go well. Please also pray for him to protected from attack in his youth post. Thanks January 22 Praying as a coupleRecently Nigel and I have decided to make a greater effort to pray together. We really want God to draw us closer. We want God to show us how we can best serve him and also to remove all barriers to doing so. We have really felt God's presence with us. And look forward to it being an ever increasing part of our lives both as a couple and as individuals. January 20 ReincarnationThis am on the tv there was a debate on re-incarnation. The Christians in the group stated that they did not believe in reincarnation. Whilst others stated that they did. One of the men in the audience who was not a christian tried to use Jesus' reseurection as proof of reincarnation because it states in the gospels that his disciples did not recognise him. Now clearly this is not proof of reincarnation. It is merely what happens when we see someone we do not expect to see. It has in fact happened to myslef when i saw my aunt on holiday once. Reincarnation does not happen and it is unfortunate that too many people believe the lie it does. January 16 Nigel's bossOn Nigel blog you will see he made a decision to hand his notice in at one job. His boss was not best pleased. Please join me in praying that Nigel's departure would be accepted and that when his boss accepts it that his boss will be blessed. Thanks January 11 Flexible workingAt work we're going to be allowed to do a trial on flexible working. We can take shorter lunches and stay late go early to accrue hours. We can then use those hours either to leave early take a long lunch or half day. It could be really positive if not abused in the trial. I know for me it will mean i can make more productive use of my time and be a lot more flexible. January 07 Prayer for nigel over end of probation periodPlease join me in praying that nigel gets the confirmation of passing the probation period he needs in his youth job. Thanks January 05 TithingSo what is tithing? It is to me giving God what rightfully belongs to him. God promises to bless those who treat him in the proper manner. Tithing is not buying God's blessing rather it is allowing to bless should he choose to do so. Now it happens we have a God who loves to bless and many who tithe have seen such a blessing. As for finances after tithing it is very true we have less but we cope and some how God blesses our bank balance so that we can testify to others of his faithfulness. TithingAs a christian it is Biblical to tithe. However many of us are only too aware of the financial tightness we may find ourselves in and the thought of giving away 10% scares us because we don't want to test God nor do we want it to be seen that we are bribing God. And hence we don't tithe but simply put a token offering in the collection on occasion and wonder why our lives aren't moving forward with God. Yet we still remain stubborn about tithing. I know i did for many a time. January 01 Well 2008 is here so what will there be to look forward to.After a very eventful 2007 when some life changing things happened, I'm left to wonder what 2008 will have in store. How will my relationship with nigel develop? How will my work life go? How will my involvment at church develop? What exciting changes will there be in my life? All things i shall look forward to finding out the answer to over this year. All I know for certain is that i have to live my life in accordance with God's will then he will work out his promises in my life. December 27 A year agoA year ago i was living down in essex and looking forward to meeting a good friend who i believed would be something very special in my life. And indeed that turned out to be correct. We spent last new year together and realised we were far more than friends. Over this past year i'm sure we have annoyed each other but the joy has far out weighed that and as we look forward to our next year together all i can confirm is that my love grows ever stronger. I love you Nigel x x December 25 My first Christmas shared with Nigel and other thingsToday is the first Christmas day I have shared with Nigel and I have had a nice relaxing day. I was delighted to get some lovely presents from him including a very delicate necklace and earrings set that Nigel had chosen for me. As many men do on christmas day, Nigel is having a sleep. It has been strangeof course not to spend the day with my family. We did have a chat with them on the phone including with my little niece who is not even 2 yet but speaks very clearly on the phone. That is I guess the hardest thing about being up here, being so far away when it comes to family gatherings. Still I am looking forward to catching up with several people when I go down south for new year.
I'm looking forward shortly to watching Dr Who- ok yes I know I'm a 34 year old woman but I enjoy it as a prog. Besides which if it's too scary I can always hide behind Nigel ;)
Recently I got a mattress pad for my bed. I can highly recommend them. My bed is lovely and soft now, I hardly want to get up in the am!! covered with a duvet makes it a bed you sink into. And is very cosy even on winter nights. So after the wine I've enjoyed today I should sleep well later!!
I'm looking forward to a nice pamper day later this week using the toiletries and electric beauty stuff i got for Christmas. Some times a gal needs a pamper!
I made a positive start this am to get some more stuff sorted in my room, so now feel it won't be long before I have a break through in the fight towards tidyness.
Right Doctor Who is just starting so I'm off to watch it.

December 17 A coincidence?It seems to me we are hearing alot recently about data being lost. Now i wouldn't be at all surprised if in the past this wasn't common, so why the fuss now? Well call me suspicious but it has oft been reported that this govt would like to introduce ID cards. What better reason than protection of our data from use by identity fraudsters? It is noticeable that source of the losses are all govt related- a hidden agenda? Could be but we will not know. December 07 Woman is crown of creation : source captivatingShe is the crescendo, the final, astonishing work of God. In one last flourish creation comes to a finish not with Adam, but with Eve. She is the Master's finishing touch. Given the way creation unfolds how it builds to ever higher works of art can there be any doubt Eve is the crown of creation? She is God's final touch, his pièce de résistance. December 05 The need to be supportiveAs a girlfriend of a guy who desires more than anything to serve God, I feel it is important that I give him all the support i can in terms of encouragement and prayer. I ask for wisdom in giving him this support. December 02 The joys of hair removalHaving a few hours to myself i have decided that shaving my legs really doesn't have great long lasting results so now i'm looking at epilators and seeing which seem best in terms of how much hair they remove and how little pain they claim to produce. But we women can cope with a little bit of pain. I often wonder though if the reason there are no epilators for men, particularly those whose beards grow quickly, because they could not put up with the pain. I just want smooth skin lol November 24 SardinesWhen younger i had a game called sardines where the aim was to fit plastic fish into a tin in order to do so they had to be put in a specific order. Seems to me same applies with our lives if we put things in wrong order they don't fit but if we put them in right order starting with God then we can do so much more. So the challenge is to put the sardines in our life in the right order so that we can do all we are called to do by God. November 15 TiredRecently I have felt a need to support various friends & family in a variety of situations from work challenges to difficulties in walls with God to lack of self esteem to romantic relationships to broken relationships to illness and finally to the very real possibility of potentially fatal illness through the best way i know how- prayer. Today i feel God has taken me off watch duty and encouraged me to rest and find refreshing in him. I can only imagine this is in preparation for the next prayer battle. November 11 FinancesWell it is that time of year when i seek to review my finances. Not easy as decisions have to be made about where i need to increase and where i can decrease. Part of that review naturally is my giving in form of a tithe and whether i can afford to give more and if so how much more. So i am seeking God over my finances at present. |
